Tennessee I‐24 Choice Lanes Public Consultation, Procurement Notice

At the end of August, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) issued a Notice of Procurement for the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project.  The project, the first of its kind for the state, will span 26 miles of Interstate 24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro. State officials have identified the segment as the state’s busiest stretch of roadway. The “choice lanes” refer to the two additional express lanes that would be built in either direction along most of that stretch of I-24, with one express lane added along a few spurs and at the southern-most portion of the corridor. TDOT has been careful to note that tolls will only be charged to drivers who use the express lanes.
