The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) is officially planning to continue its use of Public-Private Partnership (P3) contracts redevelop airport terminals region-wide. The Authority published its 10-year Capital Plan in November, and one of the major projects listed is “…a public-private partnership to design and build a new world-class, light filled and inspiring Terminal B.”
The nod to a P3 for the Terminal B redevelopment project is the first indication of an official procurement decision on the part of PANYNJ, though the agency has been considering a P3 for the project for at least a year. The plan doesn’t include a procurement schedule or other timeline information for the redevelopment project.
