The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to potential developers for the South Suburban Airport (SSA) development project. The project is located in Will County, approximately 35 miles south of downtown Chicago. The airport development project has been a long time coming – the state originally authorized a P3 for the project via legislation in 2013. That legislation was amended effective the start of this year, with a new bill that required IDOT to start the procurement process.
