After years of planning, the gargantuan I-285 express lane procurement pipeline in Atlanta is getting underway. If the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) achieves its current vision for the system, the portfolio of express lanes projects, combined with the ongoing SR400 procurement, could become one of the largest interconnected express lane networks in the United States.
GDOT kicked things off in March with a Request for Information (RFI) for potential respondents to a future I-285 East express lanes procurement. Industry input is due in mid-April.
