The United States is again emerging from a bitter and divisive election season. Yet the 2024 election was also noteworthy because of just how little infrastructure policy came up as a point of debate on the campaign trail. One of the topics often discussed in these pages – the role of the state vs. private sector in American infrastructure, barely registered during this campaign.
Outside of mainstream politics, the debate over the role of the state and the private sector in U.S. infrastructure development hasn’t stopped. In fact, it received a new contribution in October in the form of Build: Investing in America’s Infrastructure by Sadek Wahba, founder and chairman of I Squared Capital.
