Alabama’s Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project got some very good news last month. The state is receiving a massive $550 million federal grant via the Bridge Investment Program. The grant is believed to be the largest federal grant ever received for a project in Alabama.
“It is a great day in Alabama! This federal funding will be a game-changer, not just for Mobile and Baldwin Counties, but for our entire state and region,” said Governor Kay Ivey, in a statement. “This is exactly how our infrastructure dollars should be spent, and I thank the federal government for their recognition of and support for this critical project.”
