At its board meeting in November, the Colorado Transportation Investment Office (CTIO) rejected an unsolicited proposal to add approximately 21 miles of express lanes along I-25 between Denver and Fort Collins. The conceptual proposal for the project was originally received in March 2021, and called for the addition of two express lanes in each direction. Doing so would have accelerated the completion of managed lanes along the entirety of the corridor, which the state’s Express Lane Master Plan designated as a Tier 1 Priority Investment Corridor.
