Alabama Supreme Court Lifts Injunction on Gulf Shores Bridge

At an estimated cost of $120 million in state funds, the Gulf Shores Bridge project in Alabama is smaller than many of the projects that this newsletter has covered in the past. But the politics and litigation surrounding the project are exceptional, even among US infrastructure projects. Recently, the project, which will build a new bridge to Alabama’s Pleasure Island on the gulf coast, was able to resume construction after the Alabama Supreme Court reversed a lower court’s ruling blocking it.
